I have been working at Bob Evans part-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

great environment. very flexible with my schedule. great co-works great staff

Cons

I would say there is much of a con. when you work at a restaurant you can only expect so much. just as any other restaurant the pay was great in the summer season. when it was cold and people didnt want to come out you did not make as much

  1. Great company--good food--managers are not compensated well

I have been working at Bob Evans

    Pros

Great food, lots of training, fast paced, efficient

    Cons

Mangers worked very long hours. Servers are sometimes understaffed and if there is a rush, everyone has to pitch in and help.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recognize hard work from within and promote more from within the company. There are a lot of valuable associates who could manage well.

  2. Started as cook, worked up to shift manger, and have now resignated to seasonal server help been here over 7 years

I have been working at Bob Evans part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The guests are the only good thing left to Bob Evans.

    Cons

I have watched this company go from giving its best to the employees and its guest to only caring about what is best to make corporate make more money for the time being. Employees are mistreated now due to the pressure on mamagement to follow corporate direction and the vision Bob Evans himself had for his company is no longer there. What happened to take care of guest and its employees. SAD!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Training time has been cut due to lack of money to affford to train. If the guest and employees were taken care of more money would generate into the company and there wouldn't be so much pressure on everyone. Employee moral is lower there than i've ever seen anywhere. Stop wasting money on putting the stupid quart containers on the tables (that only makes guests angry, dumbest promotion ever and has been going onway too long, can't the geniuses in corporate come up with anything better by now) and give more back to those who are working hard and still care about the company andthe guest. Work in the restaurants themselves and see if you can do what is expected of your employees and maybe you will aprreciate them more and bring back the little incentives, like Christmas bonuses, yearly awards and even the Christmas sausage, the little things that used to make employees feel appreciated and yourturnover wouldn't be so high and you could afford to train properly.
