Lots of bureaucracy and people just hanging on to their jobs.

I have been working at Boeing full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Stable company, good benefits, decent (not great) pay, a few coworkers are really good

Cons

Majority of people seem to be unenthusiastic about their job. In my department there are a lot of people close to retiring and they are just sticking it out. And the new people coming in are just okay.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work better to create a more productive work environment.

I worked at Boeing full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

A great benefits package / initial salary. Very busy work environment with interesting work assignments. Most co-workers helpful. Flexible scheduling.

    Cons

Management style can be considered "micro-management". In-house very political (California Region Supplier Quality). Internal annual survey is manipulated by management to assure they are scored well by management. They seek out who may have scored them less than stellar. Not an open environment

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to promote a "true" open environment. Do not reward sycophants at the expense of truly qualified people. Allow people that are experts to do their jobs without micro-managing or changing audit results to promote appearance of a robust Region.

Decent pay and opportunities, but leadership not prepared for retiring workforce and changing expectations.

I have been working at Boeing full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Non-union-salaried roles have paid overtime, the week between Christmas and New Year's is company-paid time-off, diverse staff, paid training and education.

    Cons

Most leadership has been in the company 20+ years and is not ready to bring legacy systems and processes forward, especially as 40% of the company prepares to retire.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring in new leadership asap, groom them with what you know, let them make decisions and take the company forward, also admit that customers have aligned their operations to meet yours...maybe that should be the other way around.
