Overall a Great company!

Test Engineer (Current Employee)
Patuxent River, MD

ProsBig company where there is opportunity to move around within.
Great plans
They try to keep you in if you are ever laid off (help you find a new job).

ConsEducation plan suffered with the economy. They got smart and required 2 years in the company after completing a masters to paid for it.
Flight Test has limited chances to get higher levels.
Flight Test is a up and down environment. It could be really busy or dead.
LOCATION! Test sites are little towns.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep employees engaged and in flight test spend some money in training. OJT isn't always the best way to do things. The Navy has multiple programs that train their employees. Maybe have rotations in Flight Test to see what the different platforms are doing. Connect the four major test sites by keeping standard procedures throughout the four.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

The SPEEA Union has neutered any ability of management to… Advice to Senior Management: Bust the Unions at any cost - address performance issues… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company… More

I have been working at Boeing full-time for more than 10 years

Pros: Benefits, Pay, Opportunities, Education, Training, Cool Products, Ability to work in different areas of the company, Large Network of People, Large Network of Subject Matter… Cons: Company Too Large for it's own good, Hard to see your impact on anything in the business, Management Heavy, too much emphasis on Shareholder value,… Advice to Senior Management: Stop focusing on hiring Sloan MIT grads, and MBA's. The old Jack Welch management style thinking days are over. Now it is time… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company… More
