I have been working at Boeing (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Flexible time when your not forced to work OT

    Cons

    -micromanagement at its worst
-brow beating is normal, i have worked many programs. Stay away from wiring, they are treated like dirt.
-the tools from top to bottom stink
-they don't know how to software folks to get rid of stupid push button problems
-be expected to do things that techs or even folks with out a degree should be doing

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

the biggest problem is the micromanagement, look at how 787 failed. you have chased away some great engineers because of it. Engineers do get married and do have children
and would like to have a life outside of Boeing.
When you talk about Quality, you should really mean it. I know of 3 programs where schedule is more important then quality. If you call out a problem you should not be brow beat.
