I have been working at Boeing full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Very few companies have the resources to tackle the problems Boeing can. I work in Boeing Research and Technology (BR&T) and am generally impressed with the quality of the engineers. Some extremely capable people work here. BR&T gets to support both commercial and defense products which I personally enjoy. Good opportunities to do different and interesting things.

    Cons

My biggest problem with Boeing is that it is a giant lumbering bureaucratic corporation who treats their engineers as commodities. I feel loyalty to my coworkers but it's hard to feel loyal to a company who by its actions demonstrates a lack of regard to you. I was initially very proud to come work for Boeing but have become disillusioned by the place. I work in Washington State and would not take a job with Boeing here for several years until the current conflict with the unions is resolved one way or another. They have told employees here of their desire to be more 'geographically diverse' (code for moving employees to a right to work state where they can pay them less). Beware!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Gutting your R&D is a bad long term decision, but hey why should you care since you'll be floating away on your golden parachutes by the time the effects are felt.
