    Pros

The customers are really fun to work with. There is no inventory or any money handling at the beginning or ending of the day. You get to work with MacBook Airs all day. During the times when its slow, you can basically do whatever you want as long as all your work is done and the guideshop is properly organized. The employee discount is extremely generous.

    Cons

The days with slow hours can be a bit of pain and you'll feel like you're just sitting there getting paid to do nothing. Being in a retail environment, most of your coworkers are college dropouts or people that never went to college, so they can be very caddy and unmotivated. They basically want robots that follow their process to a "T". There is no room for being entrepreneurial or smart, coming up with your own marketing ides to improve business for the guideshop, as a whole. They want everything to be simple, with rare occurrences to take things upon your own judgement and control. I would not recommend this job for people that are trying to get ahead in life or improve themselves in a business sense. IT IS JUST A JOB TO PAY YOUR BILLS AND BE LAZY AT. Its bascially like working in any other retail store like Nordstrom.

    Advice to Management

Be open to guides being more entrepreneurial and involved with the way the guideshop operates. Allow them to actually use the college degrees they worked hard for to help business for the company.

    Pros

No inventory, so the sale process is easy and allows you to focus on awesome service and creating great experiences. You might want to free up some room in your closet, because the employee discount makes it hard to not buy EVERYTHING. They do a great job selecting great coworkers, and keeping things fresh. No two days are the same, so I hope you like excitement.

    Cons

You're dealing with the general public, so you're not going to click with everyone and can sometimes take patience. Though a great concept, it's still retail -- be ready for that. The pay could also increase a bit, if you live in larger cities. I worked in DC, and getting paid the same as other guides in less expensive cities made it hard to stretch a dollar on a retail pay scale.

    Advice to Management

Be more mindful of cost-of-living expenses to give more balanced pay.
