I have been working at Booking.com full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

All the opportunities you can take on are yours to take.
You get the chance to prove what you can do and how you can contribute.
Very social environment, whatever department you work on.
Opportunity to travel and to meet new people (external and internal).

Cons

Salary could be higher.
Career growth is definitely motivated and supported, but it would be nice to show that in job title and comp+ben

I have been working at Booking.com as a contractor for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great people, good parties, great location (in the city center). For me it's just work and a pay check at the end of the month. Take it like that and you'll be just fine.

    Cons

Its easy to look down and for sure some points should be addressed: low salary, poor management, horrible internal communication, decisions are made that do not make any sense. Very high employee turnover (that says a lot). There are a lot of internal job postings but moving from one department to another is almost impossible. HR is really bad.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Mid level management is a joke. Its basically all about micro management: you are being watched and judged ! My advice: we all are adults here and no one likes to be treated like a child.

I have been working at Booking.com full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

It is the right place for students and young people to work while looking for something better. The parties are great and very well organized.

    Cons

The environment resembles to a spider's web: you are caught no matte what but if you are in the good graces of the spider you will be spared and maybe promoted. Your skills and experience are not that important, the closer you're to the managers more chances you have to be succeeded. Internal applications' processes are a joke to keep the appearances, the internal developmental growth only exists in the paper. The road to growth is only dependent on the connections and the activities meant for 'team building' are just to comply with the agenda. All very fake.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a good look at your managers (namely team leaders) and see well what they are doing; keep them in the same short leash that they keep the agents - for them to have an idea of how is like - and don't feel afraid to fire the incompetents. Less theory and more practice in what concerns to job conditions and personal development.
