Books-A-Million Sales Associate:   (Current Employee)

Pros

The employee discount is nice.

Cons

Low pay, not enough hours, management only cares about you if you're able to push discount cards and magazine scams on people. Hard work on the floor gets you nothing. You'll give the company all you can and they will take it with a smirk and a snarky comment about selling more cards.

Also, if you're working 18 hours a week and ask for a few more hours so you can make rent, they will promptly hire some slag from another store and give them 13 of your hours. Amazing.

Advice to Senior Management

Do more for your employees. The Discount Card Bonus is a joke. Maybe you guys should focus on selling BOOKS instead of discount cards and magazines.

Why not lower the card price to $15 again? That would make those things FLY out of the door.
