Went steadily downhill during my two years.

Former Employee - Bookseller in Boston, MA

I worked at Borders part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    - I enjoyed working with my fellow booksellers
    - I loved working around books and getting to know our product better
    - In small pockets I was able to achieve some sense of responsibility

    Cons

    - The corporate offices lost sight of what made this chain unique when it attempted to clone Barnes and Noble within its walls
    - Store management felt it necessary to do exactly what was asked by the removed corporate offices, making work life rather uncomfortable for the employees
