I worked at Borders part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great coworkers, lots of interesting and educated customers. New conversation every day. A great environment for bibliophiles. Good job for college kids or retirees.

    Cons

Too much corporate control of things that could have been handled at a store level. Too slow to adapt to the internet.
