BCG was a great experience for me out of college, but had to get out!

Pros

As my first job out of university, I enjoyed the experience, connections, and real world learning from BCG. It exposed me to new working styles and real office pressure.

Pay was pretty good for a recent graduate

Benefits were also excellent

Cons

- There's only so much you can move up in the a consulting group, and with BCG I recommend taking your experience elsewhere after 2-3 years
- work hours are very long
- very competitive environment and little collaboration

Advice to Management

Consider how to foster a more creative environment and how to attract a more diverse team.

    Pros

Interesting work. Great colleagues. Great learning place.

    Cons

All employees are not treated equally. Low pay.

    Advice to Management

Keep the employees informed about changes. Senior management decisions all happen indoor without informed the employees who will see the change in prior. Very political at their of the ladder.

    Pros

Great benefits, great perks, wonderful coworkers. Focus on work-life balance and try to be very family-friendly.

    Cons

No development for non-consulting staff. I was there seven years and only had one growth opportunity. Once I passed that, it was very difficult to break into the next step.

    Advice to Management

Need to develop non-consulting staff if you would like them to stay and be happy.
