Boston Scientific – “A good company with too many faces.”

Pros

Boston Scientific is a place that has made enough mistakes in the past to really value doing things the right way. Whether it be use of technology, employee training or adoption the pursuit of CI at all sites, there is a lot to point to at BSC that makes me feel like I am at a company heading in the right direction.

Cons

Because of frequent aquisitions and divestments, there is a certain amount of flux present at BSC. Working at the corporate office, there was a lot of talk about "us" and "them" in reference to BSC and recently aquired Guidant.

Advice to Senior Management

Please stop thinking of BSC as a portfolio of medical device companies. Instead, make the many companies which have been aquired over the years a consolidated and cohesive company.
