I worked at Boston Scientific

Pros

BSC was an enjoyable, professional and inspirational place to work. Beautiful campus, plenty of workable space, dedicated employees who enjoyed their jobs.

Cons

Meeting heavy, and lots of closed door corporate whisperings when times got tough. HR has issues, should probably change personnel there. Great executive leadership but lacking in marketing and sales leadership.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to what the employees have to say about their managers and apply this to executive leadership goals.

    knowing products help patients
    some great people work there

    Cons

senior leadership in IS is incompetent

too many firedrills with more spreadsheets to fill out due by end of day
    micromanagement is burdensome to teams
management brow beats employees, highly critical and negative
IS Leadership team think much too much of themselves ... the "elite"..
    too much emphasis on process
too many single points of failure
not given proper resources to do the job
management does not care about their employees
    terrible morale
    terrible work/life balance
    questionable ethics of management

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

to the CEO: clean house at the top... look at the common denominators - attrition numbers don't lie.. - stop moving the problem around;start looking high up in IS and clean house... remember the fish rots from the head down

I have been working at Boston Scientific

    Pros

Decent benefit. Nothing else I can think of.

    Cons

My salary is low. Doing great technical work but not appreciated unless you are in "leadership". That means unless you are not really doing work, you won't get good merit increase or promotion.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Open your eyes and see how Boston Scientific CRM have slipped in the past ten years. When people doing great work are not promote and zombie or insiders are promoted.
