Evolving Culture, BU moving towards becoming a great place to work

Administration (Current Employee) Boston, MA

ProsThe benefits are good (paid time off is generous). Depending on the office, the work schedule is manageable and expectations are reasonable. There is opportunity to be part of changing culture if you embrace it and ability to maintain work/life balance.

Consslow moving. Unlike other universities, does not seem to be as much of an "academic culture" among administrative employees. The organization is not very nimble or fast moving, so it can be frustrating when trying to implement change.

Good benefits but management is terrible, with anecdotal exceptions

Senior Associate Director (Former Employee) Boston, MA

I worked at Boston University full-time for more than 8 years

Pros: Most staff care about what they do. Benefits are great,… Cons: Managers get no training or guidance in management or leadership. Some are great because they happened to get good mentorship, but there is… Advice to Senior Management: If you are promoting someone to a supervisory role, make sure… Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend More
