I worked at Boston University full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Benefits and pay seem enough for a grad student. Job demands depend largely on the chosen advisor. Oppurtunites often integrate well with classwork and personal interest.

    Cons

A small increase of salary would go a long way living in expensive Boston.

  2.

Good benefits but feel like a number, not a person, to the University

I have been working at Boston University full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great benefits including health, retirement and tuition remission. They employ a lot of BU grads so it does have a nice community feel within the staff.

    Cons

I love BU and work hard to protect their reputation and make more money for the University but I don't get much respect from my supervisors or upper administration. I feel like a number to them and I don't feel like they take a personal interest in my success or my professional development.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make your employees feel valued - we will work that much hard for you despite the fact that we already love BU!
