Pros

Feel valued coming to work everyday no matter the position.
Pay is competitive with industry standards
Plenty of opportunity for growth

Cons

Not many cons versus today's jobs. If I had to pick one it would be that working in retail operations can be very demanding at times.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the good work

    Pros

    Close to home.
Attempts a family atmosphere among associates
Says they care about the employees, have seen some understanding
    Great savings on groceries
Health benefits are better than most retailers if you are willing to follow the requirements.
Some employee "perks" if you can afford them.

    Cons

Very, Very demanding. Expectations are very high. A bit high for the resources that are given.
Hire too many employees only to cut back with in 2 months on hours. Disappointing to some associates.
Too many former "large or big box" retail managers and upper management for the smallness and the type of the business.
Most above store management is not approachable, like to give the impression they are, but if you have nothing important to them to say it is a blow off.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Loose the attitude that you know it all. Most of you are new to the company don't pretend you know everything. Including those above store management. Some ideas are not good for this type of store, admit it and move on.

    Pros

managers were extremely fair to employees.. although was well liked and one of the star employees, they definitely grilled me when needed which i appreciated... and they always maintained a Boss to employee relationship not a friend to friend. Although they were friendly, and outside work sure, have fun, but while at work, it was all business... Really glad i worked for them, even if only for a few months.. great environment to be in, and when i worked multiple jobs, they maneuvered their scheduling to fit mine and also give me solid hours.. They also offered extra work to those who needed a little extra money and that was really sweet of them. i wish i didn't have to leave them so soon, but duty called.

    Cons

truthfully, the customers were the most annoying part of work life there.... whats the point of coming to a DISCOUNT store, asking for further discounts? ... not many cons actually. Some corporate folk were quite unpleasant but i just avoided them when i could.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Store Level employees are the backbone of ANY retailer, therefore they should be treated with more respect.
