Pros

Learn sourdoughs, 12 steps of baking. Good baker hours 4am-12:30pm. Solid baking experience. Low pay for skills of the bakers.

Cons

Not good on transfers. downhill slope with pastries. Not very strict on bread standards so throughout Boudin SF location are lots of variations of quality of product.

Advice to Management

Become more strict on the quality of the bread and pay higher wages that match the cost of living. A bakers job is skilled and important enough that it should provide a livable wage in the cities they are working in. Allow employees to move around the company.

    Pros

Free daily bread everyday that you work. Good assortment of food for lunch breaks or the likelihood of other fast food mall outlets to choose from. Company is somewhat eco-minded using biodegradable starch-ware. Some store managers are trying to implement local recycling. Friendly and fun co-workers.

    Cons

Company Policy can get in the way of optimal store management and efficiency. Customer Service can get rough.

    Advice to Management

    Policies, like laws are guidelines.

    Pros

Immediate people I get to work are good with and the location is choice. Bread is good and the food is good.

    Cons

Very few benefits, low pay and long hours. Health insurance through Boudin is extremely expensive, they have no retirement plans including 401k to offer, no personal time off, two holidays a year (Christmas and Thanksgiving), expect you to put in long hours for pay that is far below the industry standard. Senior management, who receive large bonuses and lots of time off, seem only to worry about that and making more money without regard to those that make it happen and making it easier on them and their families.

    Advice to Management

Talent stays when the benefits and pay are at the industry standard or better. The benefits packages really need reviewed as well as time off for work/life balance. Not an attractive position with only two holidays, which we're not off, and no personal days.
