Current Employee - District Executive in Dallas, TX

Pros

A great 1st career move, with a supportive team and very growth oriented. I have freedom to manage my schedule. Overseeing many responsibilities keeps a District Executive busy and challenged. The field we work in is very rewarding and it gives me great pride to have a part in developing young men and women.

Cons

It could be very easy to lose sight of personal goals. 60+ hour work weeks with some mandatory weekends. not for the faint of heart, you must believe and live the ideals of the scouting program.

    Pros

Good pay and benefits, although they have been cut.

    Cons

    No work/life balance. Ugly politics.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

In order to teach leadership skills to young men you must first run your headquarters with the same values.

Former Employee - District Executive in Allentown, PA

    Pros

Making a difference, ok training, great volunteers

    Cons

too political, 1970's style managers - Corporate Culture is way of date. Pay is way too low for the zillions of hours that you will work. Be Prepared.....to not have much of life and to work for a micro-manager that talks a good talk. Anyone that stays with the org for too long is to be considered inept and broken

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be Prepared....to be in the business of becoming much smaller
