I have been working at Brickman full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Great work place. Lots of responsibilities. Ability to create your own work day and manage people how you like to. Also, as a manager you are given a work truck.

Cons

For the amount of responsibilities you are given, the pay is not that high. Profit sharing is given once a year and after taxes it turns out to be a small amount of money.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Should pay key employees more.

    Pros

At this day and age, it is a start for those out of college who have little other options unfortunately.

    Cons

Mark my words, if the region i work in is any indication of what the rest of company is doing then get ready to be sold out. Top line revenue generation is not a priority any longer. In the Midwest there is leadership at the helm that harps on cutting overhead and good employees. This is not a relationship and sales minded bunch and it starts at the top with Regional Mgrs, who are lemmings at best. RMs dont even know how to estimate work and proceed to hack away at maintenance contract margin and then cheat the customer at 60% gross margin and above on upgrades. This is a dishonest and scared group of employees who do not know how to manage good people. As a result morale couldnt be poorer at this time. i and many others are only biding time until we can find a more rewarding and respectful company who cares about those who helped to build it.
Watch as the CEO beefs up bottom line by cutting out overhead, makes it look attractive and then walks away with huge money.

    Pros

Good company to work for, good opportunities to advance

    Cons

branch managers have lost touch with what goes on in the field, too many levels who don't want to accept responsibility.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Although things are supposed to be getting better with new CEO, you may end up losing good employees due to poor branch management. It may get worse before it gets better. Intervention at the branch level is needed immediately.

    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
