I have been working at Bridgepoint Education full-time (less than an year)

Pros

Great team of people in the graduate division.

Cons

They operate a classic boiler room. Nothing but high pressure phone calls to prospective students (veiled as admissions counseling).

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cut out all the layers of management. It's overkill.

Good employer. Great if you're in the right department.

I have been working at Bridgepoint Education full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Laid back environment and good people. The benefits packages are decent, but not great (no paid FMLA for new parents).

    Cons

Professional, educated, and salaried employees are treated the same as those with only high school degrees. I believe that there should be benefits for finishing school and having experience. Software developers don't get a lot of self-improvement benefits, unless you happen to be on the right team.

I worked at Bridgepoint Education full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, coworkers were mostly nice, great gyms

    Cons

It is very political and people who don't know what they are doing get promoted and and unfit for management. Right now there is a lot of uncertainty, and people I know who work there fear that they will be let go at any time. In January they let go of 10% of the company and they say it will happen every year. Many veterans with the company are leaving.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start to value your employees and don't use scare tactics to get people to work. Also, look to reorganizing management, especially upper management, as they are often the least competent.
