I have been working at Briggs & Stratton

Pros

It is a very comfortable place to work, longer deadlines then you would expect, it is not a stressful place to work unless you fall behind on your work - which you set the timelines for.

Cons

Very behind the times on technology, lower pay then the competition.

Work like a dog for a lot of money

    Pros

Pay and benefits are extraordinary in this market.

    Cons

Treat employees as resources, but not human. Little upward mobility for women. No upward mobility for 55+. Paternalistic, invasive wellness programs implemented to reduce corporate cost of health care coverage (not for any altruistic reasons).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Rapid expansion is causing chaos in product launches. Way too much too fast!
Get focus back on track - back on the customer instead of on the stock price. Remember they made us who we were. We're becoming a commodity instead of the smart choice! Not the smart choice for personnel, either - people come on board and stay for the outstanding pay & benefits - not out of any sense of loyalty or pride.
