I have been working at Brigham and Women's Hospital part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Great perks for all employees

    Cons

Unionized nurses are the primary,if not only, focus for managment when making decisions that affect all employees. No consideration for per diem employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Per diem employees are on-call, but should still have some type of seniority ranking and preference scale with regards to scheduling and days off. Changes being implemented with scheduling should be discussed with all floor staff, not just approved by nurses. One secretary should not be covering an entire floor alone during peak hours, if there is no pay differential for the extra work load.
