I worked at Brigham and Women's Hospital as an intern for less than a year

Pros

friendly manager/upper manager
HR training programs
good benefits
I like my internship experience, with all employee orientation, workshops, community service days incorporated. It was a fairly relaxed environment and was not as stressful as I imagined a hospital to be. My work hours were a typical 8-5 pm, 40 hour week. Manager was understanding, but was busy and did not give us interns too much work and project. Work was not as challenging as imagined as an intern, but they do want to help and mentor you.

Cons

work may get monotonous
hard to advance

Recommends
Positive Outlook
Approves of CEO

I worked at Brigham and Women's Hospital full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Peers: Good people do work there.
    Good benefits.
    Busy.

    Cons

Lower management:bureaucratic, deceptive and very manipulative. Department managers, coordinators and supervisors collaborated with each other to cover each other, 3-4 day shifts, constantly leaving early. One claimed credit for work they didn't do and if one of them doesn't like you, they will (did) set you up and stick together with a deceptive act. The surgeons don't have time to care either so you're stuck with no support aside from your peers who are also potential subjects of deceptive actions.
