Pros

Good name in the local Market

Cons

Shocking turnover of staff.
Very strange management style, even experienced staff running scared
If you love kissing up to management you'll do well otherwise your days are numbered.

Advice to Management

Evenhanded management would go a long way

I worked at Brightwater full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

At the time there were some talented staff - unfortunately they all left.

    Cons

such high turnover of staff - daily! some very strange management styles in the senior managment team, often overly emotional and irrational, obsessed with 'the competition'.one staff member was called out of the toliets to resume coldcalling!
very little flexibility - must be at your desk at certain times - even very high performers.
threaten clients with legal action easily,

    Advice to Management

treat people like humans and try to instill a normal working culture.

    Pros

Great people, great management, great brand and great fun. It's a company committed to excellence and that takes a lot of work, but I loved being part of a really top-notch and ambitious company. The brand made it easy to make money with almost all my jobs just phoned in. It also meant I could be a proper Consultant, rather than just a salesperson. It was much more fun and satisfying to be treated with respect by client and candidates. The philosophy of the company was all about being an advisor and business partner. It really is/was the best part of my career.

    Cons

Like in all recruitment companies there was a high turnover of staff from new people into the industry. It can be disturbing to have people come and go.

    Advice to Management

Be more careful about who you hire, or tell new people into the industry that half of you will leave within a year. You should also tell new people that if you can do it, there is no better industry than recruitment, and no better company to work for (I worked for 2 others before, and Brightwater was by far the best and most fun).
