I have been working at Bristol-Myers Squibb full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Team work. Clear and consistent strategy from management (focus on internal R&D and string of pearls). Perseverance with challenging targets. Recently reduced middle management which was wise move. Benefits.

    Cons

Salaries could be more competitive. Significant promotions difficult unless moving to different company. Vacation time could be better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stick with what is working and don't need to follow all catchy trends and frazes such as "translational research".

I have been working at Bristol-Myers Squibb

    Pros

BMS is a solid company with a great pipeline. That will lead to many opportunities as the pipeline develops. Many of the difficult actions that needed to happen (plant closures, lay offs, etc) are now in the past.

    Cons

Being a large company, it is very beaurocratic. In order to continue to grow, the company needs to continue to free up cash to invest in the potential of future products.
