Great people but stuck a bit in their silos. Willing to learn, but experience is not consistently good.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at British Columbia Lottery

Pros* Decent but not great benefits
* Some level of job security but not 100%
* Interesting gaming industry
* Progressive compared to other North American Lottery/Casino government entities.

Cons* Sensitive to public opinion and news stories.
* Management would be thrown into a panic whenever government changed or a negative media story came out.
* Pro-active initiatives always seemed to take a back seat due to political sensitivity.
* Company had silos.
* Not uniformly competent senior management which led to a lot of wasted opportunity.

Advice to Senior Management* Work together - in actuality - and not just in public statements.
* Be more sensitive to performance at executive levels. These levels are supposed to provide vision and not dive down into minute operational details.
* Don't always trust your closest people. Walk around and talk to the trenches (in other divisions - not just your own...for gods sake you're one organization).
* BE BOLD!!!!

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
