    Pros

This company really do look after their staff and have a great support function within the business to ensure the people have all they need to succeed.

    Cons

Slower than average ability to change with the market, such a big and historic organisation which has its challenges when looking to be agile.

    Advice to Management

Network, network, network and then ensure you understand the culture of the organisation.

I have been working at British Gas full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The people you work with are the reason to stay in this company. Benefits package is pretty good. Our new MD is the first brutally honest senior manager I think we've ever had.

    Cons

If you want to do a good job, you won't be able to hit your targets. The systems are diabolical, and the red tape is endless. Talented and experienced individuals are regularly lost because the management only care about statistics. The major issues never change because the focus is always on treating the symptom rather than finding a cure.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the front line staff, stop making pointless changes just to put your mark on it. Stop repeating bad decisions and expecting different results... Make a note of the bad ideas so you don't have to try them again... It's the definition of madness!
