    I have been working at British Gas full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Security of a large company with refurbished premises for their call centre.
    Strong brand identity and loyalty amongst older customers.

    Cons

    Call centre managed according to stats for each CSA, with probation sign off an individual based decision.

    Advice to Management

    Put more emphasis on doing right for the customer and less on call performance stats.

    Pros

    Good wage, good facilities (restaurant, vending machines, kitchenette, break-out areas with books, TVs, pool-tables)

    Cons

    A lot of the work we do is centered on the business and not the customer.
    Non-compliant agents have their commission halved on one non-compliant call, and completely removed after 2 non-compliant calls.
    Lots of succumbing to OFGEM, who are completely out of touch with real customers.
    Managers are never around, always in meetings etc.
    One of the most heavily monitored work environments I've ever been in.

    Advice to Management

    Think about the customers and the people that work for you, rather than constantly looking to maintain or improve your own personal targets. Support the team.
