I worked at British Gas full-time for more than 10 years

Pros – Variety of businesses to work in, good geographic split in the UK and a real desire to move away from being known as "the gas board" of old

Cons – Frequent, almost yearly redundancies in support functions, an ageing and non scalable technology stack in the home service business, constrained salary scales

Advice to Senior Management – look externally and focus on driving exceptional customer experiences. It's not all about using the latest toys, you need to be able to leverage them properly
