I have been working at British Gas full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

good salary for the role, excellent pension and benefits, friendly colleagues

Cons

A real lack of customer service quality management, systems in place but not the results, status quo is kept too and only British Gas experience is valid, most managers I would say are supervisors at most

Advice to ManagementAdvice

More needs to be done to change the ethos of "it does that" or "thats agent behaviour"

    I worked at British Gas

    Pros

    Very few. working on Christmas day was well payed along with a nice hamper filled with goodies.

    Cons

    Often the team leaders are only TL's because they've been there for a long time. Despite being total idiots. Working for Dyno on the phones, having to keep all calls to under a few minutes reduces customer service ability. people rewarded for bad customer service. Bonus does not exist. physically impossible to attain. The boss man though is a bit of a numpty. later on Company called to say they had over payed me and i had to repay 12 pounds. Classy.

    I worked at British Gas full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    200 off your gas bill a year, share scheme and you can "work from home" more there than any other company

    Cons

    awful systems- most of time is spent on excel and putting into charts reasons for variances- normally "weather" is the magic word

    the L4 population are a bunch of bullies- and in every reorganization look after the old boys network while removing the lower levels and sending their jobs to India-
    Do you really need more than 10 L4s in British Gas?
