I worked at Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard full-time for less than a year

Pros

Work life balance is really unmatched. I worked 40 hours a week on a bad week. All the people are energetic, young, and nice. After you pay your dues you get a lot of freedom and career advancement opportunities at an early age.

Cons

The first two years in process development you are going to be doing primarily production work with limited opportunity to pursue your own experiments.
Non-profit payscale.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

None, but it will be interesting to see how the company proceeds with grant money for genomic research drying up so quickly.
