I have been working at Broadcom as a contractor for more than a year

Pros

Best place to improve knowledge on the latest technologies in Wi-Fi.
The hierarchy is transparent and easy to meet any one of them with no effort.

Cons

Food services are not great.

    Good technology and talented people around.

    Cons

    Too many titles and hierarchy, every group follow their own policy on titles. Lost the startup culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Don't get into habit of firing people whenever there is a quarterly loss. Solution for a failed attempt is NOT giving up or selling the business.

    I worked at Broadcom full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    1. Have much latest knowledge and know-how.
    2. Almost unlimited resource to engineers.
    3. Work and life balance.
    4. Not too bad pay.

    Cons

    1.Bad market strategy.
    2. Too many politics.
    3. Worse and worse benefit since 2008.
    4. Communication when remote site cooperation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Think about what is the best to company. And most important thing, do not cut off benefit anymore.
