Former Employee - Technical Analyst in London, England (UK)
Approves of CEO

Pros

Great work life balance, helpful people, good knowledge of investment banking, process oriented, fantastic training, senior management is competent and have good vision, no politics

Cons

very low pay compared to industry, product centric - you only gain specific product knowledge which may not be helpful outside the company, good company if you just want to earn okmoney and leave at a good time, not suitable for anyone who has lot of ambitions in career, wants to do quality work, wants career progression and loves challenges and money.

Advice to Management

focus on getting people diverse skills, learning knowledge, and paying decent money. Appraisal needs to be transparent not depending on your manager only.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Work hours better than most firms in the industry. More stability than average.

    Cons

Worse benefits than typical in the industry. Terrible vacation policy with only 2 weeks for the first 5 years! Lack of opportunities for growth for ambitious people. Old boy's network is alive and well. Huge inequities between different divisions creates resentment.

    Advice to Management

Stop coming up with new HR slogans and programs, instead create real opportunities for career progression for all, especially women.
