I have been working at Brookdale Senior Living full-time (more than a year)

Pros

The only good thing about the community that I work at is the residence. My residence makes my day.

Cons

From Housekeeping to upper manage there is no communication. In the departamnt that I work in, new residents can come in and you can ask the nurse what the residenct name and you get asked "What resident". or I didn't know we had a resident in such and such room. They are tring to make this community skilled and do it so the state don't know. We have have people that use lifts and can't do anything for them selfs. We have people in varies stages of alzhiemers.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

get some back bone with these family members. If they are not suited for indenpendent living then tell them.. Stop letting the reidents tell you what to do. Do a better job whith a mix of religions. Stop bring people in that don't speak english.

I have been working at Brookdale Senior Living full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

the residents, laid back job, love caring for residents

    Cons

unequal treatment by management, i have seen management gang up one employee and hound them till they quit or find reasons to fire them. They have lied to employees about insurance, stating they were being dropped of all fulltime benefits because they did not have full time hours for a pay period?Staff are not team players and will not work together.Have seen staff on cell phones in front of management and they are reprehended why others are ignored. The management here is never available nor accessible to staff. Many employees have difficulty getting office mangers to fill or print off paper work needed for state or goverment use.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

this company needs to pay visits to there communities and check out what kind of mangers they have working for them!
