I worked at Brookdale Senior Living full-time for more than a year

Pros

You do get a paycheck every two weeks

Cons

Resident who ppay over $4000 a month are budgeted around $160 a month for all of their food. Corporate and Regional management squeeze every penny that they can. Residents are short changed at every aspect of their life. Employees are overworked and underpaid. Residents get minimum treatment and not enough money for suitable food. Corporate profits are huge and level of care and feeding are bare minimum.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get off of your high horse. Try treating your employees with respect. Salaried managers are so understaff they need to work 60-70 hour weeks while getting paid for 40. Managers treat employees with such a level of disrespect it is criminal. Hourly employees are so underpaid and overworked to try and drive corporate profits. Management should try and treat thei employees like they are human and not treat them like dirt

I worked at Brookdale Senior Living full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I have nothing good to say about this corporation.

    Cons

Worked to death. No appreciation. No training or education. Thrown in to a job and expected to sink or swim. Divisional personnel will make certain they are not held responsible for anything. Will make certain you are held responsibile. No feeling of security. Always waiting for the foot to drop. Witnessed many personnel being walked off the job. Favortism abounds. There is so much wrong in so many ways. When you voice a concern, you are out of there. If you want to be a "favorite" keep your head down, work yourself to death, kiss butt, and keep your mouth shut. Budget, budget, budget is shoved down your throat. Heads in the bed, not dead.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a clue. I saw many good people walked off the job, and many others just quit. What is left is not too many you would feel comfortable working with. Educate and train your personnel. Don't expect them to do things via instructions from google.

I have been working at Brookdale Senior Living full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The management staff is likeable, friendly and easy to work with, I consider all of these people my friends

    Cons

too much micromanaging by the people that I claim to like... too much pay going to the people that don't do the work that the clients are paying me to do

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't tell us what we need to do when you already know that we are aware of some immediate need. instead ask if you can help us or lend a hand in dealing with the immediate crisis
