I have been working at Brookdale Senior Living part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Decent pay, lots of hours, willing to hire people without experience.

    Cons

When i was interviewing for the job i was told that it was ASSISTED LIVING. when I actually started working i found that it was quite the opposite, even though i work with people that have memory issues such as dementia and Alzheimer's, the majority of the people need full care not assistance. Also i was not trained properly, there were things that i was not taught to do such as properly use a gate belt and transport patients. There is a lot of STNA type of work but people that are resident care associates are very rarely STNAs or have any type of schooling/training. The turn over rate is fairly high. Its also very difficult to get days off and to get people to work your shifts.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more up front with job responsibilities, have better training.
