I have been working at Brooks Automation full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

The work is very good and fast-paced. The goals are in line with what I believe is what's important, and we are striving to achieve them.

Cons

There have historically been several mis-starts and incomplete follow-through on various projects which have made the current tasks more difficult.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on the reality of situations instead of focusing on where we should be and how to stretch ourselves as thin as possible in order to appear to be on track.

Decent place to work, terrible place to have a career...

I have been working at Brooks Automation

    Pros

Employee base is spread so thin you get to be involved in many varying activities and generally have control of your day to day decision making and direction. Limited management involvement beyond anual planning process.

    Cons

Still very much a company of relationships, sneaker-net and politics. Silo building at upper managemenet level continue to keep this company from reaching its potential. Many wasted opportunities over the years. VERY political still but much better than 5 or 10 years ago.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improvement of quality and on-time delivery is paramont to any future. Hire a professional supply chain team a.s.a.p. and integrate the business units at all levels. Stop the top down politics from getting the day to day business completed. Finally, develop new products and technologies WITHIN the window of opportunity. 5 years late to market and non-released products is killing any future in semiconductor.

    Pros

the people i worked with were great people. but managment does not care about employees. If you are a contractor here dont expect anything to happen for you!!

    Cons

no respect or appreciation for working all weekend and going the extra mile for the company!! they will tell you its never in the budget to hire you but will always talk about record numbers of money earned!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

the money this company makes and you cant even try to take care of the people that make it happen for you everyday!!! learn to treat people with respect and they will want to work hard for you.
