    Pros

Its a job. Its steady work. Its a big organization. There are multiple locations that you can find work in. There are multiple departments that you can move to if there is an opening.

    Cons

Like any big organization, Brother International gets bogged down in meetings, procedures, policies, and egos. A lot of good people work for the company because its a job. Are they happy or satisfied, no. Are they uninspired, yes. Meetings and reports have become more important that servicing the customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees. In order to improve your organization you need fresh young blood in your upper managemnet. Some of your managers in the service departments are too set in their ways to listen. This is to the disadvantage of your customers.

I have been working at Brother International full-time

    Pros

Some great people work here and it's a great place to learn what not to do if you want to grow your market share. Profit sharing can be great. They also pay upto $200 a year for gym or sports.

    Cons

Health benefits are just okay. Upper management really has a problem with not being able to let their managers and staff do their job without scrutinizing the smallest minutiae. Additionally communication between mid level and upper management is poor. What is discussed between you and your manager can be unknown to their boss and overridden without any warning.
The company is also overly dependant on one customer. To the point that they will regularly mistreat other customers to benefit the this large customer.
Also bonus structure is a mystery.
Lastly there is no documented processes for anything. This prolongs training and makes it very difficult to cover for sick staff or people on holidays.
Everything seems to be on a case by case basis...nothing is standardized.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Trust the people you hired to do their job and stop over reaching and doing their job for them. Also create a set of processes and policies for everything.
It wouldn't hurt to increase the vision benefit too.
Most importantly get your systems up to date. It's difficult to do business at the speed expected in this era when your technology is at least a decade old, mismanaged or no one knows how to properly use it.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
