Brown Brothers has intern program, but there is much room for improvement

I have been working at Brown Brothers Harriman

    Pros

Brown Brothers Harriman is a relatively small firm, so I want exposed to a wide variety of businesses and functions. For the intern who is proactive about networking, it can make a valuable professional experience

    Cons

Unfortunately BBH doesn't offer internships in some of the groups most coveted by college students ... investment banking, private equity. Many of the internships are back office roles and interns feel as if they don't get a "real finance experience" and that their managers didn't quite know what to do with them.

I worked at Brown Brothers Harriman as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

If you are a consultant the pay is good.
Can work from home a lot if sick or not in a mood to go into office

    Cons

Terrible work life balance. Working many consistent late hours due to bad implementations
    High Turnover.
    Low moral
No office supplies. You ever bring your own beverage cups

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop hiring contractors and letting them go ever few months. It is tough on the full time employees training new people.
Plus the constant turnover leads to projects being implemented incorrectly.

If you are a full time employee I beg the managers to give them a life outside work.. Most of them are staying late and working weekends because of all the mistakes from the new contractors.

If you are a contractor it is very rarely you will be offered a full time job.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
