Pros

Brown Forman is in general a good employer. They usually offer market competitive salaries, the corporate culture is rather friendly, people feel comfortable there.

Cons

There are lots of politics happening behind the scene. You should be well connected to be able to build your carrier.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more open and less politics

    Pros

    Most co-workers are friendly and work very hard, benefits were amazing

    Cons

    Although they speak highly of the work- life balance, This applies mostly to corporate employees. Field Sales positions at a state level provide little opportunity for any kind of balance. They have a great platform for diversity.... but only if you conform to their culture that is very closed door and has an outdated sense of "hiererarchy" . Communications often lost at a Middle Management level.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    A better working relationship within marketing and sales departments- listen to the field employees and invest more money into brand execution. (some markets not even allocated enough money to cover samples for distributor sales people for the year) Front line Sales People have a great sense of what's going on in the market vs analysts. Put more systems in place for financial managers within sales operations to coach and assist on "systems and reports" so that sales people can concentrate on building relationships and executing marketing plans more effectively. Speed up process of innovation. Foster and develop the career goals of your employees.

    Dinosaurs making newcomers life miserable so they leave
    Locals vs. outsider’s mentality
    Few anti-diversity people at management level
    Few politically radicals
