I worked at Brown Shoe full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

No matter what problem the local work force encountered, it was met with a can do attitude and a real willingness to find a solution.

    Cons

Working for this company, the first thing that you learn is that the corporate office believes that they can make no mistakes, no matter what. They were always correct.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sooner or later you will over capacity yourselves into a financial hole.

I worked at Brown Shoe full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Shoe discount is good perk.

    Cons

Not organized. Incomplete documentation to work from... No communication. But still expected to meet job estimates even though you were never told what the estimates were to begin with. Negative finger pointing environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get to the core of your real problems rather than pointing fingers and electing people to be the fall guy. Get realistic about your estimates. Create a culture of learning rather than "blaming".
