I worked at Brown & Toland full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Great location in SOMA for Happy Hours and lunches with coworkers.

Cons

Hostile work environment in certain departments that management turns a blind eye to.
Constant change with little sense of direction which leads to a heightened level of stress on employees.
Minimal level of training for new staff which leads to confusion as to your role and responsibilities in the company.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay close attention to issues that employees are bringing to their manager's attention. You are going to lose the cream of the crop if you continue to allow certain behaviors and situations to persist without recourse.

I have been working at Brown & Toland full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The organization had an incredible strategy in the past but the company is lost. There used to be so many positives but not anymore.

    Cons

The company has lost much of its talent because of Richard's management style. He is self absorbed, self serving and lacks vision. He does not motivate his team. He alienates employees and shows no regard for the value of management and employees. The Board does not seem to care about the future of the organization and whether it succeeds.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The board should hire outside consultants to evaluate Richard's performance.

    Pros

Could be a good place to work but management is horrible

    Cons

Richard Fish need I say more? He is clueless, he has no vision, he talks constantly, he has a disjointed management team and doesn't understand that the company is going down hill fast.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The Board needs to get a clue.
