Pros

There is a lot of opportunity for advancement. This is due to, its all about how hard you work and how much you produce.

Cons

The hours can be long. Everything is based on your numbers. The right numbers have to be produced or you work untill they are achieved.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need some flexibility in goals and maintaing them. Just adjusting dates to cover yourself is not the way to do it.

I have been working at Buddy's Home Furnishings

    Pros

The hours are not all that bad. Usually work anywhere from 8am-9pm (not usually the entire time period), but could end up working the entire time period depending on store performance numbers. Generally the employees you work with are great, but that isn't the case for every store. There is sometimes that one sour apple. To be honest, can't say I see a whole lot of pros for this company.

    Cons

To get promoted up the company it usually means you have to know somebody. Having great numbers just doesn't seem to be enough to be promoted. If your regional brought in somebody from outside the company then it normally means that person will get promoted to the next open store manager position. They keep increasing the goals even though a majority of the stores aren't even hitting the original numbers. They preach one thing, but then want something completely different.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop making it who you know to get promoted and base it off of store performance. You wonder why you keep going through managers like hot cakes and can't retain employees.
