I have been working at Burberry

Pros

Good benefits (yearly bonus, free lunches, friday afternoons off in summer, sample sales)
Nice work place in prestigious location
Open office layout encourages social interaction both for professional and personal matters
Fast paced, exciting environment

Cons

Little or no training, no real graduate programme in place
Open office layout is distracting and can generate work inefficiencies
Very tight deadlines and extremely busy working periods before market

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide training at a graduate level, both from a technical and a strategic point of view
Improve level of understanding of each team's role in creating value, organize workshops to ensure that objectives, tasks and important deadlines are understood and shared by all
Encourage social events outside of work
Have mid year or quarterly performance reviews and provide help and support from a career advancement perspective

    I worked at Burberry

    Pros

The pay and the discount, most specifically the discount.

    Cons

Standing all day and being watched by management on cameras, not because you are a thief (which was the reason for the cameras), but because the manager wants to tell you what to do while they sit at their desk.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat employees like their intelligent and teach them everything about fashion (i.e. what buttons are made out of, give fabric lessons, etc.)
