I have been working at Burlington Coat Factory part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Product line and discounts are okay

    Cons

Stores are opening up all over and yet the system is broken. It is a combination of a management issue and an antiquated product-look-up system that has no consistent nomenclature. Products come in, patrons take price tags off, then the fun starts. Trying to find a price for an item is insane, wastes times and looses sales because no two items are (necessarily) found in the system the same way.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring that NJ0 system into the 21st century. To look up an item, first you try the Vendor Name, if that does not work, you try the Style Number, if that does not work you put an "%" sign in front of the style number, if that does not work you delete the vendor name and just use the style number, if that does not work you find any other number of the product that could be entered in and try all of them the same way...You are loosing money and annoying customers who have to wait for a price to be found. Oh by the way, that new point system you put in place (12 points and you are fired)...punishes good employees who do not abuse the "call outs" but have unusual circumstances and because they are part time do not have the sick day benefits. You will always have a high turn over rate and employees who see this as a thankless job and display it in how they handle merchandise and customers.
