I have been working at Burlington Coat Factory part-time (less than an year)

Pros

the work is easy and straight forward. the people are nice and professional to work with. if you need hours I think my managers will try their best to get you hours.

Cons

for the past two or three weeks I was only given one day a week to work. some times you don't make it home until past 10:00 pm

Advice to ManagementAdvice

close the stores before midnight during the holiday season.

    Pros

    Pay day is every Friday.
Every now and then you get 25% off of purchases for a week.

    Cons

Company goes by a point system which terminates based on tardiness; with no influence of work performance yet the time clock is 6 floors up from the main entrance and we have been ordered not to use the elevator to get to the time clock. We are only allowed to use the escalator which is broken 90% of the time so we have to walk the stairs through 3 levels and then through the entire store. This effects our time.
NO HOURS. Maximum hours we ever see at our store is 25 per week... with an average of 15-20.
Management is rude and condescending and incompetent as far as managerial duties are concerned.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Understand your job description and refrain from treating your employees as people you feel are beneath you. Also, be honest in your delivery of what is supposed to be company policy or expectations. Several times management has contradicted themselves which has only hurt the employees.
