Current Employee - Customer Service Supervisor in Harper Woods, MI

I have been working at Burlington Coat Factory part-time (more than a year)

Pros

Great environment and and people are great to work with. You get to meet people every day and reoccurring customers. Holiday pay are for part time and full time experience.

Cons

Management needs to be more attentive, part time associates can not get more than 30 hours. My pay is only 8.00 and I was promoted. When I work we are mostly short staffed.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

To get HR and really go over the company with a fine tooth comb to work out the kinks. Be more attentive to associates needs.

I worked at Burlington Coat Factory part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Everyone was friendly and worked well as a team. Management members were personable and never made me feel "less than". I received excellent training in all areas of performance for my department and any questions were handled in a timely and friendly manner. I was able to gain confidence in my position from my supervisor and other management members. The store would regularly reward it's employees with incentives such as cookouts and pitch-in meals. I felt very comfortable there and would not hesitate seeking another position there.

    Cons

The only thing I can think of is being more selective about hiring young people. I think young applicants should have some retail experience before being considered for employment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stay friendly with your employees and employees will do their best for you. Reconsider hiring applicants with no retail experience unless they will not be working directly with the public.
