I worked at Burlington Northern Santa Fe full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Generous compensation and benefit packages for unionized employees.

    Cons

Long, mind-numbing shifts and an obligation to work odd hours, often far from home. In the event that an accident of any kind occurs, it will automatically be assumed by management that the employee is at fault. No evidence to the contrary will ever dissuade them of this.

If you want a true view of how a railroad operates, get down on the ground and ask the operating employees. Mr. Warren Buffett needs to give this life-sized train set a good cleaning - by starting at the top and working his way down.
