Pros

Good Pay and reasonable courtesy.

Cons

The system doesn't give a darn about its inmates and discourages those that do.
Beside my experience I know a psychologist who resigned 3 years before his pension benefit because the system was so intolerable to both prisoners as well as health care employees.

Advice to Management

The system is so entrenched, there is no way to reform it.
It would be necessary to start anew with a parallel organization, stabilize that system then phase out the old one.

    Pros

Benefits are great - 401k retirement, pension, 5% raise every year, vacations easy to take whenever, and after probation it's nearly impossible to get fired.

    Cons

If it's nearly impossible to get fired, that means you're stuck with a lot of terrible people. People don't show up to work, don't care about contributing or getting work done, seems like a lot of people who aren't the most intelligent, and POLITICS nonstop - be careful what you say and who you're friends with. People are petty and cutthroat.

    Advice to Management

Fire the sucky employees, appreciate the good ones and make them actually feel appreciated. Be transparent and include them in decisions.
