    Pros

    Good Brand Exposure to a lot of international customers specially on the IT Management side. With the changing landscape of technology from on premise infrastructure to cloud and related areas, CA offers a good opportunity for growth to interested individuals.

    Cons

    Very slow in executing. Management not able to take fast decisions. Low risk taking abilities when it comes to improve products and its internal features. Lack of such measures normally makes people go for competing products from other companies. Work is mostly routine. Limited scope of innovation and personal growth.

    Pros

    Depending on the good people that still exist and can make the difference at local level, the company still has a positive brand name Wide portfolio of solutions It is a good school for learning the good and also the bad

    Cons

    Organic growth is a problem You can’t sustain success with a stock that is not passing 30USD for YEARS – you have promised and you have FAILED Too fat organization and too political Too much initiatives and less focus/execution Mainframe business is going from bad to worse, however, financial operations can do magic sometimes. Non Mainframe business is growing, however still a bit below the leaders. Overall, CA is growing in a very modest way but with costs growing that reflect the business model in place (in Europe, this is very obvious) “Culture Change” does not occur simply because senior management is asking for it - “13000-14000 acting as 1” is pure demagogy Too much role overlap: Customer Solution Architects vs Solution Sales; Customer Solution Architects vs Pre-Sales; Solution Sales vs Pre-Sales Valuable assets on the bench/not being used properly/SFDC time reported in less accurate way HR does not exist Lie to me but do not tell me that you are lying – positive is good, negative is not welcome, perception is taken as the reality It is better to be false than being a foul

    Advice to Management

    Talk less and act more – senior management should give more the example rather than claiming for the culture change as being a pass of magic Reduce the number of roles – since by adding roles, business is not growing accordingly, reduce roles and you can do the same with less cost Merge Mainframe Business with Portfolio Management Stop playing on guessing which is the best optimal organization and start over again: Customer Solution Architects vs Solution Sales vs Pre-Sales is much more from the same rather than more, new and distinctive value If people is not succeeding at multiple role level (not just sales), renew the staff – a dead apple will contaminate the whole basket Manage sales like a project and CHECK if what is under SFDC is really real or FAKE
