I worked at CA Technologies full-time for more than 10 years

Pros

Great technology to work with, flexible working environment and great benefits

Cons

No recognition by upper management. Every year there is a hanging sword of layoffs and it doesn't matter whether your performance review is great or not.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please care about your loyal employees who every years performs above and beyond.

    I have been working at CA Technologies full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Good training , very independent, good benefits package

    Cons

    Management doesnt appreciate the work and the travel , sometime sending the consultant with no training at all .
    It's all about being billable

    Change management , have an office , promote meeting with co-workers

    I worked at CA Technologies full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Offers work from home flexibility
    - Some executives believe in collaboration at all levels of the company

    Cons

    - Very poor retention of top talent
    - ALL of leadership team is from IBM, and are stuck in their way, this is not IBM!
    - C-Level and Leadership Team live in their own cloud
    - Strategy and Re-organizations occur every year, this breaks teams and employee moral, employees work in fear of being the next to get let go

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stick to one strategy and follow through. Honor and respect top level employees that show achievement and potential. A companies greatness starts with great people, which then enhances the company reputation and bottom line. Finally, All but one executive is from IBM, this is not IBM so do not try to make it IBM. CA Technologies is a smaller organization and lives off a culture of collaboration and positive employee moral, not a strict demanding one that these executives are used to. And finally, Not all employees are sales employees, Talent development needs to recognize this and promote those who excel at the areas they are good at and are interested in.
